Lagos State plans for the World Toothbrushing Records

The Lagos State Government yesterday said they are ready to gather the world's largest number of people to break the tooth brushing record.

It said about 300,000 students from various secondary schools in the state are expected to partake in the world record feat scheduled to hold on December 5, 2012 which is aimed at improving the attitude of Nigerians to oral health.

Addressing journalists in Ikeja on the occasion of the World Oral Health Day, the Special Adviser to Governor Babatunde Fashola on Public Health, Dr. Yewande Adeshina, said the attempt to beat the world record was to further educate Nigerians on the dangers of poor oral health.
Speaking on the theme, “Don’t Wait: Address Your Future Now,” Adeshina encouraged Nigerians to consult dentists for dental check-up at least twice a year.
