In a bid to save her long time marriage which couldn’t boast of a male child after five girls, a Bauchi State based housewife out of desperation stole a one-month-old baby boy at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi.
Mallama Halima, a 40-year-old mother of five children confessed that she was pushed into the evil act by her husband who divorced her because she could not bear him a male child, Halima who is currently cooling her feet at the GRA Police Station following her arrest, lamented that she was so bitter after being divorced and in a desperate bid to return to her marital home, she had to steal a baby boy.
But instead of to restore peace and mend her already broken marriage, her dreadful action stirred more problems than she could handle as her husband outrightly rejected her and the baby.
Halima’s husband suspected some foul play, because according to him, he wasn’t the one that fathered the child.
However, he pressed his ex-wife for details of how she came about the baby and she forcefully opened up.
